OUR HISTORY
Enabling critical physical and digital infrastructure delivery.
Founded in 1998, it was originally registered in South Africa as Selmec, a private limited company, it later became Selmec Pty, a new corporate strategy to enhance its credibility and financial transparency.
In March 1999 Selmec Pty was awarded the Vodacom Base Station Maintenance contract for the Northern Borders region of South Africa. The contract was to provide electrical, air conditioning, generator and civil maintenance work on all the Vodacom GSM base stations.
Fast forward to 2003, Selmec had rapidly grown and expanded it’s services, such that we were invited to bid for and won the all-inclusive GSM maintenance contract for Vodacom in Mozambique. Due to this cross-border contract, Selmec was officially registered in Mozambique, as Selmec Moçambique Lda.
Combining flexibility and expert technical skill, Selmec Moçambique Lda continued to deliver agile, transparent, and cost-effective solutions, thereby strengthening it’s relationship with Vodacom.
After 3 years, Selmec’s potential longevity in Mozambique became apparent and as such a strategic decision was made to rename the company Comserv Moçambique, Lda. This was to avoid confusion with the names and to add more clarity to the cross-border relationship.
In 2011, Intelec Holdings, a well-established Mozambican Investment group acquired 30% of Comserv Moçambique, Lda. A year later, in 2012 Motseng Investment Holdings a South African entity, then acquired 70%. Today, Our focused passion for delivering exceptional customer value is underpinned by this relationship.
